Spun Smoke’s fine art program is built upon my work at Patricia Sweetow Gallery. The gallery opened in 1995 and represents artists from Europe and the United States. Their artistic approach and means of expression range from painting, sculpture, drawing, photography to new media. The gallery’s artists have been reviewed in Artforum, Art in America, Art Papers, San Francisco Chronicle, Frieze Contemporary Art & Culture, Flash Art, including an array of international publications as well as blogs. The multifaceted history of the gallery is reflected in many books and catalogs, in appearances at national and international exhibitions as well as art fairs.
In our modest space, called Spun Smoke, we will feature an esteemed artist every sixty days. Along with works from their studios, we have posed the challenge to each artist to create something quite special, outside of their normal studio practice yet encompassing their unique vision. Creativity takes thought and time, so check frequently to make sure you don’t miss out on our special limited selections.
